DEION “COACH PRIME” SANDERS TO HEADLINE DAY ONE AT THE INAUGURAL BLACK SPORTS BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM IN ATLANTA ON JUNE 16TH, 2022

May 25, 2022 (ATLANTA)  – Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, two-time Super Bowl champion and head football coach at Jackson State University, will headline day one of the inaugural Black Sports Business Symposium in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, June 16th, 2022.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium will serve as the venue host for the Symposium from June 16-18, 2022 in an effort to create a more inclusive and equitable professional sports community. Since its inception, multiple organizations across the sports industry have come together to support the Symposium through ideation, in-kind giving and industry support including AMB Sports and Entertainment, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, and the Los Angeles Rams.

“I’m ELATED, I’m HONORED, I’m PROUD, to be a part of such a transcending event, not just in the Sports Business industry but one that brings together and highlights OUR PEOPLE,” said Sanders.

Sanders, who is also a Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame honoree, will discuss the “Future of Sports” and empowering Black college athletics during his fireside chat alongside NFL Network Senior Correspondent Steve Wyche.

In addition to the fireside chat, Coach Sanders will personally select 10 Jackson State University students to attend the conference thanks to a sponsorship from the Atlanta Falcons and The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. In acknowledgment of the need for greater diversity in sports and the barriers of entry that exist for young people, AMB Sports and Entertainment Chairman and Owner Arthur Blank has committed to sponsoring student attendance through The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation so deserving young professionals can benefit from the event.

“I’m very much looking forward to an eventful couple of days and even more so excited to be able to hand pick 10 students from JSU and bless them with the opportunity to come attend this amazing event. They will be prepared with expectation!” said Sanders.

The Black Sports Business Symposium powered by ESPN was founded by sports industry executives – HBCU Battle of the Brains Founder and Executive Director Gregory Gibson Jr., NFL Network Senior Correspondent Steve Wyche, and Los Angeles Rams Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff – to serve as the epicenter for Black talent acquisition, engagement and development for sports organizations driving impact within the industry.

“I can’t think of a better way to introduce the Black Sports Business Symposium to the world than with the announcement that Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders will headline the opening day of the event,” said Gibson. “Coach Prime is blazing trails for HBCU students who desire to enter the sports industry, on the field and off, and his commitment is unmatched.”
